Lowcountry Produce's sweet potato butter getting some love from Oprah

The Island Packet is reporting that Lowcountry Produce's "sweet potato butter" is getting more attention.

The gourmet caners in Lobeco have reportedly had their smooth chutney of sweet potatoes and spices picked as one of Oprah's favorite things and put on the "The O List" in the December issue of Oprah Magazine.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with tasting like a combo between apple butter, sweet potato pie, and butter -- and being fat free.

Take a read about what's up on the paper's website.

If you'd like to get some, expect to spend about $8 for a jar and get it online or head up the road to their main store at 1919 Trask Parkway. The spot also offers vegetables and has a lunch grill.

A number of places in Beaufort also sell Lowcountry Produce jarred goods: Blackstone Cafe, Cravings by the Bay, and Joli Home & Markets.
