Happy's in Beaufort Plaza Shopping Center closing

Another Beaufort business is calling it quits.

This time it's Happy's in Beaufort Plaza Shopping Center.

Happy's offered some great sandwiches, ice cream and other treats. But the location probably wasn't the best, and then there's that whole economy thing.

This of course comes on the heals of Caffino and Bistro Patois calling it quits.

Here's what Happy's said of the closing on its Facebook page:

With regret (and some relief) we have to announce we will be closing our doors. Due to the economy and our location it does not make business sense for us to continue on. We have tried every which way to make this work, we’ve lost sleep, we’ve fought, we’ve pushed through. We have faced every battle head on. Through this we have arrived at the point where we know when it is time to say enough is enough.

No two people could be more dedicated to doing the right thing and making our business work. Times are tough for everyone we know. Businesses all around are closing their doors. That being said, we close our doors knowing we have not failed, we have not failed our customers, we have not failed doing the right thing.

We have believed in treating each and every customer with respect and through that we have made many friends. In a time when there is so much negativity and darkness we will continue to focus on the positive things that have been brought to us. We will continue on and hold our heads high. We never could have foreseen the challenges that fell before us when embarking on this endeavor. And that’s OK. There’s learning in everything. Lesson learned.
