The small Frogrmore Airport on Lady's Island could see an expansion in both service area and runway length under a proposed series of $24.2 million worth of upgrades.

Most impressive (and expensive) would be a 28% extension of the runway to 4,400 feet to accommodate bigger and heavier aircraft.

The plan still needs city, county, and federal approval.
