Savannah airport lands another low-cost airline

Another low-cost airline has landed at the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport to offer cheap flights to Florida. 

This time it's Vision Airlines, and it will be flying from Savannah to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Fla., beginning March 25. Flights will cost $89 one way.

ATLANTA, GA. – JAN. 18, 2010 – Vision Airlines announces today the launch of it’s non-stop, low-fare air service between Savannah, Ga., and Destin • Fort Walton Beach, Fla., beginning April 1, 2011, with rates starting at $89/one way*. To celebrate the largest expansion of a commercial airline in more than a decade, travelers may book flights to Florida at the $49/one-way introductory fare, when booked between Jan. 18 – 23, 2011. “Vision Airlines is excited to offer this new, low-cost air service to the Savannah community and surrounding areas,” said David Meers -- chief operating officer, commercial operations, Vision Airlines. “It is our desire to continue to grow our service and route structure, and offer tremendous value to leisure travelers.” Vision Airlines will operate flights three days per week, from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) to Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS), utilizing a 30-seat Dornier 328 aircraft, allowing travelers to experience an outstanding beach destination the minute they step off the plane.
