Southurn Rose, Sea Island win bids to do Beaufort carriage tours
With new rules approved, Southurn Rose Buggy Tours and Sea Island Carriage Co. won bids to run carriage tours in Beaufort for the next five years.
That said, Sea Island Carriage bid $10,000 more dollars than Southurn Rose, who was actually the lowest of three bids by some $8,000 but was the only company to fully complete required paperwork — earning the low-bidder a technical win to a slot.
