Beaufort authorities called in to investigate fundraising discrepancy
The Burton Fire District is asking for help from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office to resolve a fundraising discrepancy connected to the popular "Fill the Boot" Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraiser.
Read the full writeup over the Island Packet, but it seems what was deposited in the bank is about $2,000 less than what authorities thought they had collected at the intersections throughout northern Beaufort County.
