Near 7 a.m. on Sunday an SUV with nine people on board crashed in Jasper County after the driver fell allegedly fell asleep and overcorrected.

One passenger was thrown from the vehicle and later died. The driver, Jonathan Andrez-Gonzalez Ludvin of Charleston, fled the scene along with seven other passengers.

Ludvin was later found and charged with leaving the scene of a traffic accident with a fatality, driving too fast for conditions, and not having a driver's license.
