The end of an era, or seeds of the future?

With the Lowcountry Economic Network coming to a whimper of an end, economic development in Beaufort County is certainly over as we know it.

And that could be a very bad thing when it comes to prosperity (assuming you don't disagree with the math that the network was good for Beaufort).

But The Island Packet is viewing it with a spin and saying that this could be a chance to find a new successor to the network and one that's more targeted towards capitalizing on Beaufort's resources.

(Presumably by making better decisions, namely, not focusing on a commerce park.)

And there are also some new grassroots efforts afoot looking at other ways to energize on economic workforce base.
