Tom Davis, who represents Beaufort in the S.C. Senate, has been named to Gov.-elect Nikki Haley's five-person budget or fiscal task force.

The other four named to the task force are:

• George Schroeder, a past director of the state’s Legislative Audit Council.
• State Rep. Nathan Ballentine of Irmo
• U.S. Rep. Henry Brown. Brown
• Ashley Landess, president of the South Carolina Policy Council

Davis of course is a major ally of outgoing Gov. Mark Sanford, serving two stints as his chief of staff. The two attended Furman together. So no surprise here that Davis is fitting in well with the Haley camp.
