Beaufort school board at least as smart as a fifth-grader

Fifth-graders didn't want to move to area middles schools from their elementary schools, at least their parents didn't want them to, and so the Beaufort County Board of Education has decided to keep them where they are.

The potential move of the fifth-grade classes was a less publicized aspect of the recent school closure and shuffle discussion.

But the board voted Tuesday night to keep things status quo.
