Political consultant with ties to Beaufort races dies at age 56

Rod Shealy, an influential and sometimes controversial political consultant throughout South Carolina died Wednesday at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Shealy had worked on several local races for S.C. Senate and House seats, including those of Catherine Ceips and Randy Bates.
