Bridge to Savannah down to one lane after fatal wreck (updated: work to continue Thursday and Friday)

Updated p.m. March 16: WSAV has another update and is reporting that work will continue Thursday and Friday, with traffic restricted to one lane for most of the day and evening.

Reported March 15: A Tuesday wreck on the South Carolina side of U.S. 17 left the driver of a tractor-trailer dead this afternoon.

The Talmadge and Back River bridges were closed for several hours this afternoon after the wreck, which occurred on the Back River Bridge, according to news reports.

The bridge will be down to one lane basically all day tomorrow, so plan accordingly if you're commuting to Savannah.
