A Bluffton Olive Garden, masonry, and a bureaucratic ring match

The salad and breadsticks aren't the only endless thing.

While the Beaufort Olive Garden marches on, the one proposed for South of the Broad has become ensnarled in battle of bureaucratic prowess.

At the heart of the battle is a debate between getting another piece of construction (and showing the county can play business ball) and a distaste for tile and stone as exterior design features.

The short story is that the Southern Corridor Review Board has said no way and Beaufort County Council has rebutted with an 8-3 vote to override and allow the restaurant design at the rebuilt Tanger Outlet Center 1.

Bluffton Today has a nice profile of the debate; read it here.
