Educational theater opportunity~ get your feet wet!

These auditions for 'Our Town' are open to youth, teens, & families. 17 men & 7 women needed; roles are small. "Multigenerational theater is important, we can use the talent and wisdom of age to groom young actors," said JW Rone, director. Auditions are Wednesday & Thursday, April 6 & 7, at 7pm, at ARTworks in Beaufort Town Center.
The story follows the small town of Grover's Corners through three acts: "Daily Life," "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity" and is narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, produced jointly by the Palmetto Theater Xperiment and Misspent Youth Productions, known for 'Steel Magnolias,' "The Dining Room," and "Painted Alice."

'Our Town' by Thornton Wilder was chosen for production in the 300th year of the City of Beaufort, to explore the history of a small American town. A juried art show in the gallery at ARTworks will accompany the play in the black box theater.

"This play portrays the quintessential American small town. We're expanding the concept to 'Beaufort: Our Art Town" to the gallery, to give people the opportunity to look at our art town through history and today. The combination of the stage and the gallery will fill ARTworks with artistic representations of our town created by the people who live here."

The call for art will be announced very soon, in the meantime— be bold and audition!
