In August 2011 the Port Royal Pasta Company opened up as the latest restaurant to occupy the building at 1430 Ribaut Road — this week it became the latest restaurant to close.

Locals will recall that the building near the junction of U.S. 21 and S.C. 802 has hosted many restaurants since the longtime Joe's Spaghetti House closed — and The Island Packet caught up with the managers of the building and it sounds like this latest closure of a spot — that opened just some eight months prior — may signal an end to new restaurants at the location in the near term.
