Beaufort County Board of Education approves $177.9 million dollar budget.
Responding to state-mandated raises for teachers and classified staff, the Board of Education approved a budget that eliminated a number of positions and included a $1.8 million investment in technology that will put iPads in eighth and ninth grade classrooms. The budget requires a property tax increase to pay for the raises and technology initiatives.
