Update: If you measure the annual Taste of Beaufort festival's success in terms of delivering tasty food and fun, it was undoubtadly another success as some 8,000 people packed the park.

This year's festival even offered a surprise in the form of Zumba fitness themed flash mob by the local YMCA — check out the video below by Captured Moments Photography.

The local photographers also have a photo gallery from the festival (part one, part two).

If you're interested in the race results, snag them here.

First reporting: One of the tastiest parties in Beaufort returns May 4 and 5: A Taste of Beaufort at Beaufort at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.

This year adds extra time for the "Arts and Crafts", starting Friday, May 4, from noon to 5 (The Market will also be open Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.) "Shaggin' With A Taste" will then get the event rolling on Friday, May 6, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Saturday will start at 8 a.m. with a 5K Run/Walk and popcorn race for children under seven years old (follow this link to find registration forms).

After the race is concluded, the main event will be hosted in the same location from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Waterfront Park where some 15 restaurants from all over town will be serving their dishes, while live music and children's activities will be provided throughout. Tickets are available on-site, and are $1 per-person. Admission is free.
