2013 Crowfield Plantation 5k, benefiting The Callen-Lacey Center for Children

Don't miss this opportunity to get some exercise and enjoy the fall weather while supporting a great local organization.

The fourth annual Crowfield Plantation 5k presented by South Carolina BLUE Retail Centers is set to take place Saturday October 12, 2013 8:30 a.m. at Middleton Park in Goose Creek. The USA TF certified 5k course follows a wooded paved trail around scenic Crowfield Plantation. Runners, walkers, and beginners of all ages are welcome.

There will be cash prizes and awards for the top finishers and awards for the top three in each age group.

Everyone is welcome but due to the design of the course, strollers and leashed dogs will only be permitted with walkers.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Callen-Lacey Center for Children. The center provides a secure, protective, and nurturing environment for abused, abandoned and neglected children. Since opening in 1998, the Callen-Lacey Center for Children, a Carolina Youth Development Center shelter, has been home to more than eight hundred children ranging in ages from newborn to 17 years of age and is open 24 hours each day throughout the year.

Early registration ends October 9. Register now at www.crowfield5k.com and visit us on Facebook for more trail pictures and up to date info. We hope to see you at the race!
