2015-2016 North Charleston Dinner Theatre Series Tickets On Sale Now

The North Charleston Cultural Arts Department is pleased to present its 2015/16 Dinner Theater Series, featuring four fabulous performances accompanied by elegant dining.  Season tickets are on sale now for $140 per person. Group discounts are available. Single performance tickets are priced at $40 and are available for purchase one month prior to each event.  Patrons interested in forgoing dinner and enjoying just the performance have the option of “performance only” tickets for $15.                  

The series has proven to be a popular program for couples and groups. Productions are scheduled on Friday evenings in September, November, February, and March in a ballroom setting at the Charleston Area Convention Center Complex, located at 5001 Coliseum Drive in North Charleston. Table numbers are assigned for each performance and given to patrons at check-in. Guests are served dinner at 7:00pm, then sit back to watch lively, and often interactive, programs by professional performers while enjoying dessert and tea or coffee. Dress is business casual. Ticket price includes dinner, play, and gratuity. A cash-only bar is available. Parking is free.

September 18, 2015 – Last Will & TestamentTexas was never this fun - or this deadly! Jonas Carmody, President and Founder of Carmody Oil, is dead of natural causes at the age of 78, leaving an estate valued in excess of $30 million. The heirs apparent are in for a big surprise when they gather together with his friends and business associates for a memorial dinner in his honor. Unbeknownst to his eccentric family, a surprise reading of the will is on the menu, and murder is certain to be a la mode! In this hilarious mystery/comedy presented by The Crabpot Players, author Lisa Patrick-Wilkinson brings to life a host of colorful characters and interactive fun. Audience members are encouraged to come in Texas attire, and will team up with the detective to crack clues, obtain evidence, and ultimately help solve the crime committed before their very eyes!

November 6, 2015 – God’s Trombones: Seven Negro Poems in VerseThis theatrical performance by Ron and Natalie Daise of one of James Weldon Johnson’s most celebrated works is a tribute to African American culture and heritage.  The production includes a cappella selections of Gullah spirituals and will appeal to lovers of inspirational writing, scholars of African-American culture, and persons who appreciate great poetry. The couple’s dramatic readings and performances are inspirational and enjoyable, embodying the energy, vitality, and culture that James Weldon Johnson envisioned.
Entrée: Drunken Pork Tenderloin – grilled, bourbon glazed slices with bourbon spiked peppercorn jus and a granny smith apple & red onion relish

February 5, 2016 – Puttin’ On the Ritz The amazingly talented sister act Gracie & Lacy will present a classy performance showcasing the music, glamour, and pizzazz of the Swing Era! Harmonies with that Andrews Sisters flair, energetic tap routines, and vintage-inspired costuming bring past hits to life in vivid color, including Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Sisters, and Puttin’ OnThe Ritz.
Entrée: Chicken Saltimbocca – lightly breaded with sage, prosciutto, provolone, and parmesan peppercorn alouette cream

March 18, 2016 Noches TropicalesSouth of Broadway Theatre presents an evening of song and dance from the tropics that will raise your temperature and set your toes tapping!  Join them as they tour music from South America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Audiences will scarcely be able to sit still under the spell of the intoxicating rhythms of Samba, Salsa, Meringue, and more…  Let the bracing winds of March give way to warm and sensuous tropical breezes during this one of a kind night.
Entrée: Pecan Roasted Salmon with Dijon & maple baste and smoked tomato jam
