St. John's Chapel has seen little use in the past several decades, but after nearly $2 million and lots of sweat equity, the church is ready to come back.

But those heading up the effort want to make sure that the presence of the Episcopal church goes beyond its walls and into Charleston's troubled East Side community.

Hop over to The Post and Courier for the story.

The church at 18 Hanover Street in downtown Charleston will be consecrated on Monday, October 12.
