The third annual Charleston Pride Week rounded out on Sunday, and ABC News 4 offers a video feature on the week and what it means to those in the community.

In part:

"A lot of people think we choose pride because we're proud of being lesbian or gay or bi or transgender, but really it's more of being proud of our accomplishments despite that. Because, we do have to overcome some obstacles and adversity to be as successful as those in our straight community," said Charleston Pride Festival chairman, Rob Lewis.

Among adversities is the fight for marriage equality. Gay marriage is currently illegal in the Palmetto State.
