The South Carolina Secretary of State, Mark Hammond has cleared Coastal Uncorked of any violations of not donating enough of the festival's proceeds towards charity.

"The Secretary of State's investigation into Coastal Uncorked found no evidence of violations of the South Carolina Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act," said the written statement that was released by Renee Daggerhart, a spokeswoman for the office.

Where is the money raised by Coastal Uncorked supposed to go?

All funds raised during the festival and other annual events will be used for future events and a portion will be donated to the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Culinary Arts School and the Coastal Carolina University’s Clay Brittain Jr. Center for Resort Tourism.

The investigation into Coastal Uncorked started back in February of this year and you can read the full write-up about it over at Myrtle Beach Online. You can also read Coastal Uncorked's first year tax filings right here
