The philosophy behind Charleston's newest coffee shop, Hope and Union

Hope and Union has been open for a little more than a month now and we've already talked about it and generally heard good things about their coffee, but Preview has chimed in with a bit about the coffee shop's philosophy.

In part, "Owners John Vergel de Dios and his wife, Harper, wanted to bring back the tradition of the 18th-century coffeehouse: a place for patrons to assemble for conversation and social interaction while they enjoy their caffeinated beverages."

Man, I'm a sucker for philosophies behind actions.
