Community responds, buys children center some time

After word came that the Charles Webb Center for developmentally disabled children would close due to state budget cuts, many in the community responded with some $30,000 in donations.

While it will only give the center another month or so to stay open, perhaps it will be long enough for some federal funding from the Obama administration to help out.

Head over to The Post and Courier for the story.

Parents were very concerned when it was first announced the center would be closed as it's very hard to find care for those with development disabilities.
