New York Times writer Sheila Dewan recently explored the in's and out's of Charleston and chronicled her visit in with a flattering piece entitled, '36 Hours in Charleston, S.C.'

In just a couple days, Dewan hit the downtown shopping scene, indulged at local eateries, soaked up some history at the Old Slave Market Museum and Middleton Place plantation, and familiarized herself with Charleston's arts prowess with a visit to the Dock Street Theatre.

Her piece is accompanied with some lovely images of Charleston personalities and special places.

No big surprise, but Charleston has charmed the pants off yet another visitor.

Go read about Dewan's Holy City experience here.

And, yes, it wasn't that long ago that Charleston did a profile on visiting Charleston on the cheap.
