Pecha Kucha 9 is February 24th (update: tasty food, a way to still get in)

Update February 22: While tickets are sold out, organizers are granting admittance to Thursday's event if you join the "House of Commons."

What's the House of Commons? Think of it as an advocacy group for Charleston's creative cluster. It's $50 but it will make you creative types feel good, free admission to all their events, and get you a t-shirt and some miscellaneous schwag.

They've also announced the venue (The Exhibition Hall at the Gaillard Auditorium, 77 Calhoun Street) and the food and beer lineup (no ATM on site, bring cash — there's an ATM across at the Royal Bank of Canada):

Food from Grills Gone Wild:

  • Pulled Pork Sliders – $4
  • Grass-fed Beef Sliders – $4
  • Black Bean Sliders – $4
  • Blue Crab Mac & Cheese – $4
  • Mac & Cheese – $3
  • Beers from Coast:

  • 32/50 Kolsch
  • HopArt IPA
  • Milk Stout
  • All beers will be $4

Honestly I wasn't planning on going, but that food+beer lineup is really tempting me.

Update February 16: Tickets are now on sale for $5 each.

Get yours here — and also note that all the bios of the speakers are up and linked to below.

Oh, and we failed to mention that tasty Coast beer will be served at this event. Yum.

First reporting: Recently posted on Charleston's Pecha Kucha blog is the official lineup of speakers for the ninth installment coming at'cha on February 24th.

Here are Pecha Kucha 9's speakers in no particular order:

We'll keep you posted with more details on the evening as they become available. In the meantime, be sure to check out the Charleston City Paper's post which has more details on the selected speakers; read it here.
