Takeover Charleston: It's here, it's queer, and it's taking over your bar

The Charleston City Paper has a great piece on Takeover Charleston, a great way for Charleston's LGBT community to socialize together all over Charleston - one happy hour at a time.

So, what's the big idea? Easy. Coordinate a specific date with a restaurant, secure some amazing happy hour deals and then invite Charleston's gay and lesbian young professional community out to mix and mingle.

With Vickery's gone, Charleston's gay social spots have been narrowed down to Dudley, The Chart, Patrick's and Club Pantheon. The Upper Deck draws a large lesbian crowd every now and then, but really, there's nothing else. The beauty of Takeover Charleston is that they transform spots like Home Team BBQ, Liberty Tap Room, J. Paul'z, Club NV and Fish into a one night only gay mecca.

Intrigued? Then hop over to the Charleston City Paper and read all about it.
