Remember how we told you that Heather Koonse, local designer, pattern drafter, seamstress and owner and creator of The Rose Knot wanted $15,000 to design resource center for local fashion designers to develop, create and produce well-made clothing?

Well, she got  it — $15,075 of the $15,000 goal — and the Charleston Garment Manufactory will soon become reality.

"The dream is to create a resource for fashion designers and individuals to use in developing and producing their clothing", said Konnse. She hopes that the Manufactory will be an aid for drafting, consultations, garment construction, and education — aiming to streamline the Charleston designer experience.

You can learn more about what to expect in the video up top.

Exact details are still sparse while a space and further funding is sought, but we'll be sure to keep you posted, in the meantime, tune into the Facebook page and Koonse's website.
