Local bank looks to create a more approachable feel

Image by Flickr user Bucky Schwarz Image by 20090506-bank.jpg Solid, secure, and austere; bank designs are looking for a breath of fresh air after the recent economic burst.

The Post and Courier's Robert Behre writes about what he sees as forthcoming change in bank design.

Gone (at least for now) is the impetus to design banks that show of wealth, and in with showing off "homeyness."

Behre uses the new First Federal branch at Tanger Outlet Center in North Charleston as an example of how things are beginning to tilt.

Go read his piece, and be sure to look at the photo gallery.

The new bank is at 4692 Center Pointe Drive.
