Downtown Charleston Marriott hotel sold again; Other hotel deals brewing

The 176-room Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Historic District hotel at the corner of Calhoun and Meeting streets has been sold to Maryland-based RLJ Lodging Trust for $42 million.
Yes, that's the hotel that was formerly a Holiday Inn until last year when it was sold and later expanded.
The Charleston Regional Business Journal has some nice meat on the latest deal (read that here) and The Post and Courier has a similar report that also notes other downtown hotel deals (read that here).
All-in-all construction and development deals are once again buzzing in Charleston.
