Request to better accommodate CSX rail plan looks unlikely
Rail-operator CSX has requested that plans for the $182 million new port access road in North Charleston be reassessed so CSX can more easily build a railroad center, likely taking many cargo trucks off the road.
But the requested changes seem unlikely to happen as it would create a bit of a port monopoly over Norfolk Southern and it could further delay the much-delayed Navy base terminal.
Head over to The Charleston Regional Business Journal for details.
