The RoomStore of Myrtle Beach is victim to corporate bankruptcy and is selling off its inventory and expects to be fully shut down sometime in early August.

The Sun News reports the liquidation sale began this weekend.

The RoomStore is owned and operated by the Helig-Meyers corporation which has had a troubled and strange financial maneuvers over the past 10 years. This Richmond Times-Dispatch report gives a good example. Helig-Meyers was one of the last furniture stores to issue and manage their own credit accounts.
