Polarity Thinking: Gaining a Competitive Edge

Discover a leadership technique you can use in business, civic activities and even in your family. Polarities are interdependent pairs of Values, often competing, that need each other over time to achieve optimal performance. For example, being a quick thinker can be opposite to being analytical, but both traits have their places and best uses. Polarity thinking retrains us from falling prey to our own strong, singular instincts about what we see as the “right” way to do things and helps us manage simultaneously in pairs. Margaret Seidler, Polarity Managment Master, is a nationally known organizational development expert who has popularized the concept of “thinking in pairs”.
