The second show of Charleston Jazz Orchestra’s Season 7, MAIDEN VOYAGE: A Tribute to Herbie Hancock recognizes the significant contributions of American pianist, keyboardist, bandleader and composer Herbie Hancock. With an expansive career that spans five decades, Herbie Hancock has a vast discography and remains a significant contributor to the jazz repertoire, also serving as a critical advocate for the legacy of jazz music. Charleston’s resident big band will present a range of standards from the extensive catalogue of Herbie Hancock, including new arrangements of “Watermelon Man,” “Chameleon,” “Rockit,” and more.
