The performance selections for the 2013 Spoleto Festival USA have been announced and online ticket sales have officially begun.

Spanning from May 24 - June 9 2013, the Spoleto Festival is one of the world's top performing arts festivals. Ranging from opera to circus acts to contemporary dance, it's essentially a 17-day long performing arts explosion.

This coming year is no exception.

Update December 18: The 2013 Spoleto season is now two shows stronger.

In addition to the already announced lineup, the Spoleto Festival has added performances from Angelique Kidjo and Johnnyswim.

Grammy Award–winning world music superstar Angelique Kidjo will combine powerful West African grooves, raw American R&B, and sophisticated jazz harmonies. Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter duo Johnnyswim, will offer up their soulful blend of sultry R&B and indie-rock.
