The City of Charleston is buzzing with excitement as the first weekend of fall descends -- the season is arguably the most filled with style and events galore.

The highlights of the weekend include two big name events: the Moja Arts Festival and the second annual Charleston Green Fair in Marion Square. The Moja Arts Festival is an 11 day celebration of Caribbean and African-American heritage and culture that has events taking place throughout the city. Sunday's Green Fair is a eco-friendly, environmental-based expo that is aimed to educate and entertain anyone interested in greening up all aspects of life.

This weekend is also a big one for those interested in immersing themselves in Charleston's historical side. The fall tour of Charleston homes, hosted by the Preservation Society, is kicking off their month-long strolls through some of Charleston's most beautiful and historic homes. It is also the inaugural Museum Mile Weekend where for just a $20 ticket, you'll be able to get access to 12 sites along Charleston's Museum Mile.

The music scene is heating up and the temperature, hopefully, starts to cool. Redux will host New Music Collective's cofounder Philip White, the Music Farm's got the Ying Yang Twins, Needtobreathe, Crowfield and Green River Ordinance, the Indigo Girls are out at Family Circle Tennis Center, Eye Level Art's got Michael Bellar and the AS-IS Ensemble, and The Pour House has a Talking Heads tribute band.

Live football games are a rare occurrence in the Lowcountry, but this weekend the Citadel Bulldogs take on Presbyterian College in their home opener on Saturday. Individual tickets for the reigning Kelly Cup Champions ice hockey team, the South Carolina Stingrays also go on sale this weekend.

That is just the tip of the events iceberg, so click on over to our events calendar to take a look at what else is happening around town.
