The foodie paradise weekend round-up

Warning: this weekend may induce food comas and wine drunkenness.

As you may well have seen and heard, the BB&T Wine + Food Festival has returned to Charleston for a weekend full of fine dining, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and more. Some of the world's best chefs, winemakers, and local chefs will get to show off their chops, and there will even be a casting call stop for Bravo's Top Chef season nine.

Another event making a triumphant return to Charleston is this Friday night's French Quarter Gallery Association's art walk. From 5 to 8 p.m. get your wine, cheese, and art on.

If you want to hop on the free food train before the art walk, Chick-Fil-A will be giving away one order of free medium fries to customers between 2 and 4 p.m.

In a lovely gesture to give love back to their loyal customers, Ted's Buctcherblock is hosting their 3rd Annual Locals' Block Party on Saturday. Let the brisket feast commence!

After digesting all of the fun listed above, maybe you'll be in the mood to get a little exercise. If so, sign up for the Mullet Haul, an inaugural trail run that encourages runners to sport either real or imitation mullets during their participation in the race.

To throw a little local shopping into the mix, the Brick House Kitchen is hosting an arts and crafts market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. From what we hear, you'll find everything from jewelry to quilts.
