Here's our weekly guide to making the most of your weekend

Whether your week whizzed by or crawled by at the pace of a snail, the weekend is here for you and wants to make you feel like a champ.

Hold on though, don't forget that this Sunday is Father's Day. Be sure you do something nice for your old man. One day out of the year won't kill you.

This is actually the first relatively laid back weekend in Charleston for quite some time now. And by laid back, I just mean that there aren't 400 different things going on in a span of three days.

This weekend, Friends of the Charleston Library bring back their big old summer book sale, there's a Big Lebowski Celebration in Park Circle, the Carribbean cultural celebration Carifest is back and plenty of World Cup Soccer to be watched at sport bars and such all around town. If you want to get some culture and art into your weekend schedule, think about stopping by either Eye Level Art for Ethereal, a multimedia celebration of the female form or Blue Bicycle Books for a book signing with Arthur Allen, author of Ripe: The Search for the Perfect Tomato.

If you're looking for more events to fill your weekend, your best bet it to take a peek at either the Charleston City Paper's weekend round-up or our Events Calendar.
