It's shaping up to be a bit of a rainy weekend in Charleston, but don't let the potential for thunderstorms get you down. There are quite a few fun and exciting events happening around town--plus, any relief from this heat is a plus!

Susan Cohen's weekend round-up in the Charleston City Paper covers most of the events happening this weekend. From an Improv Smackdown, RiverDogs home games, a party on the Mount Pleasant Pier to film screenings, she's covered a lot of ground. Hop over and check it out. However, we've got some additional goodies to tantalize your weekend taste buds.

If you hadn't heard, from Friday to Sunday at midnight, it's South Carolina's tax-free weekend. If an item could potentially be used by a student, there won't be sales tax applied. So, go crazy and stock up on clothes, computers, housewares, or what-have-you.

On Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m. come party it up at Eye Level Art during the record release party for Charleston's very own Rocky Horror. There will be performances by the Mystical Half Dozen's "CPO Gents", comprised of JeffET and DJ Birdflu, and a set by the man himself, Rocky Horror.

For those of you with a green thumb and an altruistic spirit, come garden alongside Charleston Parks Conservancy members at the Windermere Boulevard Community Garden. Those attending should meet behind the Earth Fare on Windermere Boulevard by 8 a.m.

The man himself, Guy Harvey, will be at the Palmetto Moon store in Summerville on Saturday to meet with fans and sign autographs from 2 to 4 p.m.
