There's no need to feel down, it's weekend round-up time!

It's time to enjoy another lovely weekend in Charleston. It's a particularly slow weekend events wise, but hey, the Village People will be in town -- that's something you can't say everyday.

First are foremost, the weather forecast for the weekend is looking mighty fine. They're calling for 91 degrees and mostly sunny on Saturday, and 91 degrees and partly cloudy on Sunday. Sounds like an ideal beach weekend if you ask me.

As far as interesting events go, as mentioned before, the Village People and KC and the Sunshine band will be performing on Saturday night at Boone Hall Plantation. Put on your boogie shoes and Y-M-C-A the night away with these 70's legends. There's also going to be a free performance by the Jimmy Buffet tribute band turned trop-rockers the Rum Punch Bandits on Friday night at Freshfields Village.

This weekend marks the third Worldwide Photo Walk day and there are three different walks taking place in the Charleston area. Hone your photography skills, learn from seasoned photography veterans or just mess around with some new gear. Later Saturday evening, to celebrate being named an "All American City," the town of Mount Pleasant is hosting a party before the 9 p.m. showing of E.T. down at Memorial Waterfront Park.

The Charleston City Paper has a weekend round-up of their own with a few extra events listed on it. Hop over and take a look.
