Update May 1st - In keeping with a strict annual tradition that Calendar Man would be proud of, Captain's is celebrating Free Comic Book Day this Saturday, May 5th starting at 10 a.m.  Take a pre-tequila-time-out, grab a few free titles, and take advantage of some awesome deals!

First reporting:

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st, West Ashley's own Captain's Comics and Toys will join comic book retailers nationwide to celebrate this year's Free Comic Book Day.

Somewhat akin to Record Store Day, Free Comic Book day is a chance for retailers around the country to celebrate their awesomeness simultaneously, and give away some free books.  In the case of Captain's, there will be hundreds of free books, and each family can have their pick of three for the bargain price of $0.00.

In addition, there will be a massive sale of 25%-50% off of everything in the store (excluding new titles), some free hotdogs, and giveaways for Iron Man 2 premiere tickets and the new Iron Man 2 soundtrack CD from AC/DC.  

Captain's Comics & Toys can be found at 1209-D Sam Rittenberg Blvd in West Ashley.
