The Jazz Artists of Charleston is gearing up for some killer special events during the 2011 JAC Jazz Series.

Starting May 25th and concluding on June 10th is the 14-night jazz series Upstairs at McCrady's at The Gallery Room, right above the restaurant (2 Unity Alley), including the following special events:

• May 31st - Holy City Homecomin' featuring Art of the Song - $30 in advance, $40 day-of - Explore the roots of songwriting with an all-star group of local musicians including Bill Carson, Michael Flynn, Joel Hamilton, Cary Ann Hearst, Lindsay Holler, and Michael Trent. Set I starts at 7 p.m., and Set II starts at 10 p.m.
• June 10th - Charleston All Stars featuring Bob Belden with Tim Hagans and Animation - $40 in advance, $50 day-of - Grammy-winning Bob Belden will lead his band, Animation, in an interesting take on Miles Davis' Bitches Brew album. Watch this band rock out at 8 p.m.
