The Footlight Players are holding open auditions for their first show of the season "Is He Dead?" a new comedy by Mark Twain; adapted by David Ives directed by Greg Tavares.

Auditions will be held on both June 27th at 5 p.m. and the 28th at 7 p.m. at the Footlight Players Theatre, located at 20 Queen Street. At the auditions you'll be doing a cold readings from the script. Please note that bringing a close up picture of you to attach to your audition form is a must.

Here's a bit about the play to get your creative juice flowing:

Jean-Francois Millet is a brilliant but unrecognized artist who can't sell a painting to save his life. With the help of his madcap bohemian friends, Jean decides to stage his own demise to revive sales. However, in order to keep an eye on his success, he re-emerges as his imaginary twin sister. Join Footlight for farce that will have you laughing loud enough to wake the dead.

Is He Dead will run from August 27th through September 12th.
