Writer, photographer, activist Jones to speak as CCU Kimbel Distinguished Lecturer

Two of Ann Jones' most recent books.

Ann Jones, internationally renowned writer, photographer and women's right activist, will serve as this year's Coastal Carolina University Kimbel Distinguished Lecturer at 7 p.m. April 21 at Wheelwright Auditorium.

Jones, who earned a Ph.D. in literature and history from the University of Wisconsin, has traveled the U.S. and abroad for most of her life, reporting on domestic violence issues and women's rights and injustice during times of war throughout the Middle East, and publishing her findings in photographs, books and magazines such as National Geographic Traveler.

The Kimbel Distinguished Lecturer event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets may be picked up at the Wheelwright Box Office, 108 Spadoni Park Circle in Conway, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or prior to the lecture. For more information, call 843-349-2502.
