Why walk when you can Affordabike?

Picture yourself meandering through historic downtown Charleston on a beach cruiser custom designed by you. Now picture that bicycle costing you as little as $110.

Sounds pretty sweet huh?

Since its start last summer Unique Transportation has been supplying Charleston with a local brand of bicycles, Affordabike, that are not only affordable and eco-friendly but a great alternative to the lack of available parking downtown.

The process is simple. You pick your bike's parts and colors and the bike is assembled for you according to your own price range. This has been a breath of fresh air for college students who need the transportation but cant afford the pricey bike brands sold elsewhere downtown. The company also specializes in a brand of electric skateboards, Electric Revolution, that can actually be carried like a brief-case to be brought into work or school.

This Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m., owner Daniel Russell-Einhorn and Bicycle Assembly Manager, Griff Ducworth, will be hosting a grand opening party at their new store at 207A St. Philip Street. There will be free beer, pizza, a bicycle giveaway, and an electric skateboard demonstration and everyone is invited.

There seems to be a lot of talk about the event throughout the downtown community and Unique Transportation staff expect a good turnout. So, why walk when you can Affordabike this Saturday?
