First reporting:

Charleston's favorite taqueria/cantina,Taco Boy, is finally opening downtown the week of May 25th.

They've still got some last minute things to wrap up so the exact date is fuzzy, but we'll be sure to let you know.

Taco Boy Downtown will have the largest street-level patio on the peninsula, offer daily specials, Sunday brunch, and not to forget ... delicious Margarita's!

The restaurant was constructed with strict green standards, most everything is salvaged, vintage, or refurbished.  Eco-friendly materials were used wherever possible and the roof has a rainwater catchment system installed to irrigate the grounds.

Karalee Nielson, co-owner of the company said, “We’re really excited to be a part of this up-and-coming neighborhood. We love the idea of downtown residents being able to walk or bike to Taco Boy. We see it as a great neighborhood gathering place.”

Taco Boy downtown is located at 217 Huger Street near the corner of East Bay and Huger (that's just south of the bridge).
