Update March 18: Just two days until the expo. If you're looking for a bit more background and orientation, the Charleston City Paper has posted their own preview; read it here.

First reporting: Captain's Comics and Toys is teaming up with Protect Yourself At All Times (PYAAT) Fights to bring you this year's Captain's Comic Expo on March 20th.

For the bargain admission price of $5, you can spend all day (or at least 10am to 4pm) indulging in a variety of fanboy-friendly activities.  There will of course be comics.  Lots and lots of comics.  Literally thousands, from both Captain's and a number of other regional vendors.  As if that weren't enough, there will be comic book artists on hand as well.

But fear not, unsuspecting wives and girlfriends, there will be more than just comic books.  This year's partner, PYAAT Fights, will be represented by a number of MMA fighters and will provide info on upcoming fights.  Monster Music will be there selling movies and CDs, and giving a preview of Record Store Day.  Play-N-Trade will have playable video games and info on upcoming tournaments.  Round out the fun with a Superman jump castle and you've got yourself an expo!

The venue this year will be the Knights of Pythias Hall, located at 1968 Belgrade Avenue, just off of Sam Rittenberg Blvd in West Ashley.  This spot is much closer to the shop (1209-D Sam Rittenberg), and most importantly, much closer to my house.
