The Charleston Friends of the Libraryhave announced the dates for the 30th Annual That BIG Book Sale. The biggest book, DVD and CD sale in the Charleston area is set for October 12th, 13th, and 14th at the Omar Shrine Auditorium.

Over 60,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on CDs and tapes, VHS, sheet music and maps will be on sale to the public with prices starting at just $.50. For the price of one movie ticket or one new paperback book, shoppers can walk out with a basket full of books, DVDs and CDs that they can enjoy over and over again, or pass on to a friend. The event will also feature a rare book auction.

The Charleston County Library system continues to see a huge surge in patron interest: from people attending computer and resume preparation classes, to those enjoying free writing workshops led by Charleston’s best writers, to children’s story hours, Metropolitan Opera simulcast, and of course books, DVDs, CDs, and more. And it’s all free!

The Friends of the Library, a non-profit, has been busy raising money to help the library support all of these exciting community events.

Admission to That BIG Book Sale is free. Items will be half price on Sunday, with the exception of a few materials. A special preview sale for Friends of the Library members will be held during the evening of Thursday, October 11th. Checks, cash, and major credit cards accepted. You can become a member of the Friends of the Library for $20 at the door.
