Update October 20:

Stumbled upon the Jewel and Ginnie official video from KK6 today and wanted to share the link. Per usual, the work is sick nasty. Go check it out.

Update October 10:

Kulture Klash has come and gone and the photos are rolling in, here's what we've been tipped off to so far:

We'll update here with more media as we find it.

First reporting:

The sixth installment of the much anticipated Kulture Klash Arts Festival is just around the corner, and we just got the down low on what's in store this year.

Our friend and one part of the main Kulture Klash organizing crew, Ambregre Sloan, has forwarded us all the dirty details.

Here's what to expect on October 9th:

50+ artists on display: Local and regional artists will show off their talents in forms of acrylic, oil, photography, sculpture, metal, fabric, screen print, graffiti, graphic design, mixed media and much more. Don't miss KK newcomers Tony Csavas, Alex Johnson, Kevin Morrissey, Robert Donovan and Abigail Miller.

Live painting: Local favorites will dazzle onlookers with impromptu designs and whatever else tickles their fancy that night. Live graffiti will be in the works all night courtesy of ARM. Jason Wells from Iron Lotus Tattoo Studio will be dreaming up designs that reflect your desires and free hand airbrushing them on all your body parts.

Comedy: Dusty Slay (Theatre 99) will be providing some comic relief for all to enjoy, since laughter IS the best medicine. Don't stand in front, he might call you out.

Roller Derby Girls: Their chutzpah inspires us. The lovely and talented Lowcountry Highrollers will be throwin' bows and pushing each other down for your viewing pleasure. These ass-kicking babes will be dressed to the nines and KK wants you to help break in their new recruits.

Photo booth: "Photographer about town" BadJon and renegade artist SHT! have schemingly concocted an interactive crime scene photo booth. Event goers can play a part in the investigation. Who dunnit?

Silent Disco: You can't hear music when you walk in the room, but everyone is dancing...

Pocket Galleries: Get ready for a 3D display courtesy of Cole Dixon that will make your eyes cross...in a good way. You'll feel like you are inside a virtual world of artwork that you never thought possible. (glasses provided) Brian Bustos will be building an installation involving strings and pyramids creating shadows and illusions. The final result is not what you would expect. Jared Charzewski will be building a geological landscape out of books to show just how many library books are facing the landfill after their life has run its course on the shelf. Books should be treasure, not trash.

Dance: It's sexy time. The beautiful girls from Bizarro Burlesque will tantalize your eyeballs with their sultry sassiness and playfully perky attitudes. You will also be awestruck with amazement when the hotties from DanceFX show you how it's done. They'll incorporate hip-hop, Vegas showgirl, go go dancing and our favorite "Risque Ballet."

Live music and DJs: Joycette & K-Flo$$y - Female DJ Duo spinning electro booty bass, Stranger Day - Charlotte based MC, Permanent Vacation, Ahuf, Lord Walrus - Hip Hop Electric Hardcore, The Defilers - Greaser Punk, Cash-style country Cousin Dan, Danny McBride meets Chromeo = Psychedelic Dance Party Skye Paige - Woman lead Rockabilly Blues Band, Battle Scarred Saints - Punk Band.

Drink: Enjoy a cold beer from New Belgium Brewery ($4) or a smooth glass of hand selected wine by Social Wine Bar ($5). Drink tickets can be purchased immediately upon entering the venue. There will be ample non-alcoholic bevs from Vitaminwater.

Eat: Snack on some salty-sweet Kettle Korn from T&T's, cool and spicy Mexican treats from the Taco Boy truck or head inside the building, grab a booth and order a sandwich at Annabelle's cafe.

We've got a video from a past Kulture Klash (the third one) that took place at 10 Storehouse Row, the same space that this year's event is happening. To get an idea of what to expect, take a look at the wild night.
