The King Street Shop Walk was definitely an enjoyable time despite the cold temperatures.  Deals were aplenty, with most store participants offering 5 - 25% discounts for attendees, as well as complimentary treats and drinks.

While the deals were hot, my only criticism would be that perhaps a more local focus would add to the character of the event.  I definitely enjoyed indulging in discounts from large brands like Godiva, but with so many local shops on King Street that are just as deserving of local dollars as Banana Republic, I could only see the incorporation of more local boutiques and shops as a good move for everyone.

All in all, it is a great annual event that helps bring friends together for some enjoyable holiday shopping.  Two ladies told me they have made it their annual holiday get together with each other, and enjoy the experience and "helping the economy."

Original Reporting November 23rd: Join Mackenzie Image Consulting as they present the much anticipated King Street Shop Walk - one of the biggest annual events of the  holiday season. 

On Friday, December 10th, join us on historic King Street for an evening of surprising fun, chic discounted shopping and holiday celebration. Kick the night off at the Shops of Charleston Place where you’ll pick up your King Street Shop Walk passport. 

Your passport is the key to discounts, prizes, libations and appetizers all night long. It will guide you through each store, highlighting what you don’t want to miss. Use it to find local designers tucked away in King St. restaurants. Or to indulge in a specialty drink at one of your favorite boutiques. Flash your passport to be eligible for exclusive discounts at each participating retailer. Make a purchase to get your passport “stamped” with door prize tickets. The more you purchase, the more tickets you earn. End your shopping excursion at The Charleston Place Hotel for the after party where you’ll turn in your door prize tickets, mingle with friends and win fabulous prizes. 

Some exciting stop along the Shop Walk will include chances to make your own couture flowers, visit the gourmet hot chocolate bar, design your own undies (yes, undies!) and much more. 

 Reserve your passport now to save $5 at the door. Pick up your passport beginning at 5 p.m. at the Charleston Place Hotel. Swag bags go to the first 150 tickets sold. Proceeds benefit the Center for Women.
